Sid Meir’s Alpha Centauri, released in 1999 by Firaxis Games, has something of a reputation in the gaming community. With hard science fiction, three-dimensional characterization and a climactic premise, Alpha Centauri is widely considered to be one of the most well-written science fiction games ever made.
